Away from the sunny shores of Sydney, and smack bang in the middle of London! What a difference in temperature.

Bianca's 33rd Birthday
Saturday was a lovely day, the sun was shining brightly thru the crack in my curtains! So I had to get up by lunchtime as I was heading out to celebrate Bianca's birthday at the Western Arms in Essex. The drive wasn't bad and the pub was lovely. Bianca's family & friends had all flown over from Germany so it was nice to see them all since her 30th party in Paderborn. A pig on the spit was delicious followed by many chocolates, cake & fruit!
A lovely evening!
Last game for the year!
So we had our last game on Thursday against the Meteors in Finsbury Park. It was a great match even though the pitch was pretty rubbish. The night got dark so quickly that during the 7th inning we could barely see the ball. In the end we called it a tie even though it should have gone back an innings and then we were up by 1. Oh well it was our last match and we finished 5th on the league ladder out of 12 teams! Not bad for our first year together.

Softball Tournament
Well last week sped by so fast the next thing I know it's the weekend again and time for our first softball tournament. We had two days of playing softball in Old Deer Park in Richmond. Due to the unfortunate train system I had to go get Krista from Woolwich as that was the nearest she could get. I was up on Saturday morning at 6.15am!! Unheard of!!! Managed to get her no probs and we headed over to Richmond. The day was overcast but not too cold and they did promise it was going to get to 24 degrees.
Unfortunately we lost our first match (really badly) then we had a break, followed by 3 matches back to back, then a break, then the final match for the day. We lost them all! Oh well it was great practice for us and we really enjoyed it and the sun came out it was brilliant weather. My boss (Andy) came down with his family to cheer us on for a bit which was great. Saturday night they always host a massive party as well, but I was in Coop so fast and heading home to a nice hot shower. I was in bed by 9pm sound asleep.
Sunday dawned nice and bright. Another early start with a bit of cloud but that didn't fool us. The sun came out mid morning and it was HOT HOT HOT! I have the red face to prove it. We ended up winning 3 out of 5 of our matches on Sunday. It was nice to actually win something! The sun was shining and the beer was flowing by the time we sat down to watch our new friends (The Rhythm) play in the final. It was a nail biter and was tied in the 7th innings, with them having to go one more. Luckily they scored the extra run they need to win. A fantastic victory even though we weren't playing. Got home about 8ish extremely tired.
Next time sunblock is a must, it was deceptively cloudy but I should realise that doesn't stop the rays from coming out. Fingers crossed all the after sun I'm putting on will calm my skin down.
We have our last league game on Thursday which is a bit sad. I'm going to have to find another sport to play, hopefully netball.

Singing with the stars!
So we organised a team karaoke night. Mimi & Will managed to find a place that we could hire out for the evening on Friday night. We met up at All Bar One in Leicester Square for pre singing warmups, then after many drinks, we headed into Soho to find The Source Below. There were about 16 of us, and we had the basement to ourselves. Luckily! It was awesome! I totally killed Islands in the Stream and had a go at Nothings going to stop us now. To see the video's go to our Base Jumpers Facebook page (hilarious). It was such a great evening I wouldn't mind going back.
The rest of the weekend was nice and relaxing. It was great to get together on Sunday for practice and have a great laugh about the video's!
