The Kings Speech

Got a couple free tickets to go see The Kings Speech at the Wyndham Theatre last night so Nat and I went to Kitchen Italia first for dinner then walked down to the theatre after. We managed to sneek in our caramel sundaes from Maccas, got a few envious looks from people around us.

The play was brilliant and the main actor who played Bertie was fantastic. His portrayal was superb as was Lionel's. Although the lady who played Lionels wife (Myrtle) has a rubbish Australian accent.

On a final note - the hall is painted, so that means ALL the painting in the house is DONE!! And my sofa is being delivered tomorrow, so excited. No more sitting on air mattresses! Watch this space for pics.

The cardy

48 days later

After 48 days, 1152 hours, 69,120 minutes, 4,147,200 seconds I am so happy to announce that chocolate, bread and I are back together! It's been an extremely long and trying time. I have to admit I did slip up about 7 times with bread, and I licked my finger covered in chocolate once but other than that I managed to go without for the full 48 days.

This morning I had 2 caramello koalas after my cereal, chocolate never tasted so good. I then followed that up with 4 Gaiety biscuits for arvo tea. For dinner I've just had pizza! Tasty!!

Walk this way...

In June I'm going on a 25 mile walk/hike for charity along the Jurassic Coast. Lou, Hayley, Clare, Anne & Michelle are doing it as well. We go down on Friday night and over two days make the trek. Hopefully the weather will be good so looking forward to camping in the open air.

So any good athlete will know to get the best out of your event you have to have the right equipment. I went into North Face and after debating colour, shape, breathability etc I finally decided upona super cool pair of hiking shoes. After Mum's suggestion I went for the shoe not the boot. I also bought 2 pairs of proper walking socks, they were £12 each!!! That was a bit steep I thought but if they help keep the blisters away then it's a good investment.

I decided to wear the new shoes to Tesco's to pick up some milk, I really need to break them in before the big event. I didn't wear the socks though as stupidly I didn't want to ruin them. So Tesco's is just 15 min walk away and not only did I manage to pick up milk I got a blister on my read ankle. Bummer! Oh well it's only the beginning.... look out Paula Radcliffe.

Drinks at the Cow

Our team down at the Village won a safety award and to celebrate they put on drinks at our local pub, The Cow. It was a lovely night to catch up with people I hadn't seen in awhile. They were also giving out caricatures that had been done of us! Quite interesting the artist's impression of us. It was funny anyway. Not a late one for me but others......

The Duchess & Headhunters

Friday night saw Jimi and  I head to The Old Vic to see The Duchess of Malfi. The theatre itself was beautiful, its the first time I had been there. The play was really good, although with their olde worldy english vocabularly I had to really listen to figure out what they were saying. I think it must have taken a long time to have conversations back in the 17th century!

Saturday was generally spent in bed, on the (blow up) couch, in bed, reading, listening to music.

Sunday I had free tickets to go see Headhunters at Stratford Picturehouse at 11am. It was fantastic! Very gripping and twists up to the end. Think I want to read more of Jo Nesbro's books now. After that I walked around (the outside) Westfields for a bit as the sun was shining outside. I found a pair of walking shoes from North Face so going to pick them up on Thursday (exciting) and I bought a couple of lampshades for the house. Then it was off home to finish painting the kitchen. So that now there are 2 completed rooms! Only the lounge & hallway to go and I'm done!

And here is the bedroom!
