More tourist stuff....

So woke up refreshed and ready for another day in the city. Met up with Marianne at Camden station and took her to the markets. We ended up spending over 2 hrs walking around eating and buying stuff. Finally I managed to find a ring big enough to fit my fat fingers and I also bought a swarovski star crystal as I lost my other diamond pendant in the US. I had had that one since I was 18 so was a bit upset I had lost it, luckily I found a nice replacement. I bought 2 bags! One is a greeny/aqua colour with a cute poodle on the front (one of a kind) and a zip bag. You can literally unzip the whole bag until it looks like one long zip. Its so cool and cheap. Comes in a variety of colours & sizes so let me know if you want me to get you one.

After the markets we were going to go to the zoo but it was pretty miserable and we decided to do stuff instead. We ended up at the British museum. I really like that place. We spent 3 hrs there wandering around and even ran into my friend Scott. After a cuppa tea we headed off to Oxford Street as Marianne needed to update her reading. We stopped at Waterstones and I picked up 3 new books to read as well.

Then it was farewell to Marianne who is going to be exploring the capital for the next few days before she heads down the coast to Brighton. Hopefully I might get a chance to see her when she heads up to Wales.

A great weekend! Alot more sightseeing to come.

Mum's Birthday!

So big day today, it's Mum's birthday! The day didn't start off to well as our next door neighbours started sanding their floors at 8am!! What a joke. I went next door and banged on their door and told them off.

Luckily I got to speak to mum and calmed down.

Met up with Marianne in Covent Garden. We had a lovely lunch at The Walkabout, then we headed over to the Tower of London. It was awesome to go in and view the crown jewels and wander round. It was a great day of walking around town too. A quiet evening watching the highlights of

AUSTRALIA KICKING ENGLANDS BUTT IN THE RUGBY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Off to Camden markets tomorrow for brunch with Marianne. Then we are going to go to London Zoo for a look around. Might even try to get to Spitalfield markets as well.

Busy Week

So what a busy week it's been. Monday was a lovely evening in watching Elizabeth: The Golden Age. Nice and relaxing.

Tuesday I was out with Gary, Uva and Nat at a wonderful seafood restaurant called Livebait. Super tasty and great company.

Wednesday it was Paula's birthday so we all went for lunch at a local Carribean restaurant. Super spicy, luckily I had plenty of water to drink. Then if the evening met up with Kate & Angela to watch the new Bond film, Quantum of Solace. It was fantastic, and ofcourse Daniel looked HOT!

Thursday I got to meet up with Lida for a meal at our local TGI Friday's in Leicester Sq. It was so great to see her, as it's the first time after the wedding, so lots to catch up on.

Friday met up with Angela and we went for drinks with my work in the evening. It was a strange pub to choose but someone from work organised it. It was interesting to start to get to know others on the team but was heaps of fun.

Halloween in Cambridge

Another weekend, another party to go to. Saturday morning after a lie in, it was off to Cambridge for a Halloween party at Mila's. I got dressed before I left so was hoping no one would look in my window and see a bloody nurse's outfit!! It was pouring with rain so the scene was set for a creepy night. I got to Cambridge at about 6ish and went to pick up Colin, who looked super scary in a mummy outfit. The rest of the blood was applied to my face and then got a text from Mila asking us to go to Sainsbury to get some lemonade for the punch. Well i wasn't going to walk in there by myself. So Colin and I trawled the aisle's of Sainsbury looking for the lemonade and in typical English style no one stared except one little girl who I think was worried I was hurt.

Off we finally made it to Mila's to be greeted by an extremely scary (cobwebby, spidery) house. So much food and punch on hand, with spooky music and sounds in the background. There were witches, devil's and a character from Clockwork Orange, a ghost from Scream, a zombie & black fairy.

Many games ensued, bobbing for apples, scooping flour lolly game, pass the orange under your neck and murder wink! Lots of dancing and singing was done by all. It was so much fun the witching hour sped by and the next thing you know it's 3am. Time for bed!!

Sunday dawning bright and sparkly outside, inside you had some very slow/tired women! It was soooo worth it though. Looking forward to next year, although if I hear Thriller by Michael Jackson again it will be too soon!!!

Nat's Birthday

Well another year older, it was Nat's birthday on Monday 27th October. As she was a bit busy on the Monday we decided to go to dinner on the Wednesday to celebrate. Nat booked a table at Thai Silk in Southwark and Lee (Nat's bro), Danny, me, Krista, Laura & Simon turned up. As Nat and I had been talking about parties I decided to bake her a princess cake. What a nightmare!! The cake turned out unreal but getting it to work then on to the dinner was crazy, especially on the tube! But alls well that ends well. Made it to the restaurant and Nat was so suprised when they brought it out it was worth the effort. Great food followed by a major sugar rush with the cake!
