Away from the sunny shores of Sydney, and smack bang in the middle of London! What a difference in temperature.

Sabine's Birthday
Friday night saw a crew of us going down to the local pub for drinks after work. A funny evening filled with karaoke and drinking!
Sunday was spent cleaning my room and getting it in order (FINALLY). So with England losing in the background I managed to organise my whole room, such a relief.

Saturday woke up feeling abit sorry for myself. Mooched around all day doing nothing which was great. Then it was time to head up to Cambridge for dinner for Sabine's birthday. I met up with Sabine & Annabel and we had a delicious dinner at Strada in town. Didn't think we could fit in dessert but when the time came it wasn't a problem! Stayed at Mila's and then headed home on Sunday.

Dinner with Diane
Thursday night saw me missing softball for dinner at Patara in Greek Street, Soho. A fantastic Thai restaurant. Me, Clare, Damian, Diane, Burak & Jade went for a bit of a farewell dinner for Diane who will be off soon. It was such a nice evening, the company was great and the food was delicious. The others kicked on after for drinks but I was tired and headed home.
Found out later that night that the team (Basejumpers) had lost 24 -17. Bummer, but we are still 2nd on the softball league table! Bring on the next game.

Pub quiz at The Cuckfield in Wanstead. Our team - Mark's Mates - consisted of me, Mark, Fonz, Caroline & Gemma. What a fantastic quirky pub and the lemon tart was delicious. So we tried out best and came 14th out of about 30 teams. Not too bad, and the questions were quite hard. But such a laugh! Looking forward to the next contest!

London to Brighton
Saturday was spent doing nothing but sitting in front of the tv relaxing.
Clare, Lee, Mark & i were staying down so we had a few drinks then it was off to bed. This morning we got up and had a full english on the beach which was delicious! Then it was time to head back to London. Traffic was horrendous but finally made it home!
Sunday lunchtime I headed down to Brighton to watch the team come across the finish line. I got a bit lost and walked around the prommenade for an hour before finally finding the marquee. (have a go at the blister I got!) I well earned rest followed, whilst watching the cyclists came in.

Emma's Birthday
Another birthday lunch & cake! June is great as it's Suzy's birthday next week.
We got Emma a voucher for Lakeland, HMV, a Jon Bon Jovi pillowcase and a signed Jon Bon Jovi picture. She loved them all and we had a lovely healthy lunch of pitas, veggies & dips.
Ofcourse it was followed by cake, a vegetable patch!

House of Commons
Last night was the annual reception at the House of Commons for the Red Balloon Charity. This year Clare, Pip & I went so it was nice to have some familiar faces. The speakers were amazing as usual and one of the pupils got up and spoke of her experiences, so moving.
After the speeches it was time to mingle and Carrie had sent me a list of people and I managed to track one down and chat to them about the Red Balloon. Turned out he was the son of a famous UK wrestler, Giant Haystacks. The girls were really excited so I brought Noel over and we have a great laugh.
A few drinks and it was time to go home. What a wonderful experience!

Birthdays & Fun Day
Friday night met up with Helen & Nat for drinks at the Refinery for Helen's birthday. It was a lovely evening as the sun had come out. A bit of antipasto and a cider.....lovely.
Saturday I was supposed to go to a softball umpiring course but that got cancelled so I headed up to Cambridge for the day as it was Annabel's birthday and Carrie was hosting her yearly open garden.
Got up to Cambridge about 12ish and managed to suprise Annabel which was nice. Then a lovely lunch with Claire, Annabel, Freddy, Sabine, Steve & Michelle. The sun was still out so it was great to feel it on the skin. After lunch I headed over to Carries house for the open garden. Carrie has surpassed herself once again. The riot of colours was breathtaking, and seeing Caldy & Lundy was wonderful too, although they had just been running through the pond so were a bit wet to cuddle.
After that I headed home for a nice realxing evening.
Sunday saw me, Clare, Pip & Mark head over to Ealing Broadway to take part in the company Fun Day which I helped organise. It was alot of fun and I spent some time on the bouncy castle, the kids crazy cottage, the rodeo bull and the bbq was fantastic! Entered one of the relay races they had put on but we came second! The local fire department did turn up so the girls and I headed over for our pic with Firemen! Got home about 5ish exhausted.
Putting my bed together tonight! Can't wait.

Whats been going on....
So finally Clare and I have moved into our new place! Still trying to get things out of boxes. Need to get my bed frame and then it will be complete. Pictures will be coming shortly.

Inger came over from Denmark last weekend for 5 days. It was great to see her. Friday we went shopping and caught up on the goss. Saturday we were going to do a bit touristy stuff but it was drizzling so we looked around the shops and then headed back home. That night we met up with Louisa and watched Sex and the City 2!! It was sooo funny.
Sunday we headed off to the Church for a drinking session. Me, Inger, Helen, Nat, & Gemma met up and headed over the Clapham. We met up with Steve & Ian which was fun. After church we headed over to the Walkabout in Shepherds Bush. Got home about midnight which was good.
Monday we sat around and relaxed. We watched alot of telly and ate junk food.
Tuesday, Inger went shopping in the morning and then I met her at Victoria station to say goodbye. It was great, and looking forward to going over to see her next time!
