Well it was a huge day on Thursday with Coop's arrival! After she came I had to go to work but as soon as I got back in the evening went and sat in her for a bit touching all the dials and stuff. Friday morning I headed back up to Cambridge to meet Mila. A day of shopping, chatting & eating which was great fun. It's been so cold here recently that I said I would drive and pick everyone up as we were going to Colin's for dinner & a dvd. I still had the rented car so no probs. After finally finding his place in the maze of apartments we had a tasty dinner of pizza and watched Finding Nemo. Then off to bed in my room (in Mila's house).

Saturday I had to go and drop off the car then it was farewell to Mila and back to the old house to meet up with Naomi and the gang. Relaxing as though I had never been away! It was great. Then off to Claire & Annabel's for lunch and a catch up. I was so lucky as the Easter Bunny must have known I was going there as there was a HUGE egg for me. (Thanks Claire, Annabel & Minty). We watched an awesome thriller called Disturbia. Very good. Throughout the day it alternated between rain, hail & snow. Its crazy. So then it was back to Emery Street for a mid arvo snooze. After waking it was time to go to the pub with Fauzan, Naomi, Catriona (yes the new me in the house!) Steve & Jamie. A nice chilled out evening.

Sunday I was woken by Naomi thundering down the stairs to burst in my room shouting to look out the window. It had snowed overnight and Cambridge was covered!!! Its so crazy!! A cupa tea with Colin, then it was time for me to head off. Annabel offered to drive me to the station with my push bike but we soon realised that the bike was too big! No worries we set off for the station and no problems got on the bus replacement service to the nearest train station. Then finally got on the train to London and tried to get on the Tube with my bike. It said on their website I could during non peak times! Ofcourse when I show up it's like NO!!!! So after the Tube chick gave me directions (she doesn't realise I have short term memory loss) I struck out to get across London. Luckily I saw the 59 Bus which goes to Waterloo so hopped on my bike and cycled like mad! Thank goodness there was hardly any traffic, and 15 mins later I was at Waterloo. I was on fire!! Whooo hooooo So after 5 hours I finally arrived in Portsmouth, no scratches, bumps or bruises. And it was so sunny!! Go figure.

Monday - Still on hols today, so now that I have the bike I'm going for a cycle to see more of the town and do a spot of shopping! Then it's back to work tomozza!

ITS A GIRL!!!

Name : Coop
Age : 1 mile
I LOVE HER!!

Bristol City

Last weekend was spent in Bristol for Dina's housewarming. It was great to see Dina & Helen was great. Mila, Sabine & Jamie met up with us so it was a great reunion. Saturday was spent watching the rugby in the Roo Bar with a couple of ciders. It was really great to see Poz & Cass there as I've not seen them since the wedding at Chrissy.

The evening was spent sitting on the couch at Dina's chatting to her mates and catching up on the goings on in Cambridge. A 4am bedtime is not something I'm used to so was a bit tired in the morning.

Ben came round for brunch which was fantastic to see him and catch up. Now that I have a car I'm only 2hrs away from this lot so will be going to Bristol more often. After a nice feed and catch up it was time to go home. A great weekend spent catching up with friends.

Portsmouth

Well had my first weekend in Portsmouth or Pompee as the locals call it. It was a beautiful sunny weekend with only a slight bit of rain. Saturday I was out shopping at the local outlet stores! Excellent, they are only a 10min walk from my house and they are built in brand new shops down by the docks. It reminds me of Darling Harbour. After that headed into the cheaper section of town where I found Primark, H&M, Dorothy Perkins, TK Maxx & Top Shop all in the one area. So it was a great morning of shopping. The afternoon was spent inside watching the rugby. Scotland kicked Englands ass!! Whooo hoooo

Sunday, my flatmate Ben & I went to a local place by the sea called Barnaby's for a Sunday roast. Quite cheap but heaps of food and very tasty. We even had apple crumble which was so big and tasty I actually couldn't finish it. Walked around the seafront a bit, but was getting really windy so headed inside to read the papers. Also tried to take some pics of myself in the jacket Inger made for me. Reckon I took about 20 but only a few turned out ok.

This morning I woke up to gale force winds. It's crazy! Hopefully it will die down a bit so it's ok when I drive home.

Only 10 days till I get the mini coop!!!

Farewell Cambridge

It had to happen and the time finally came. Friday night I drove up to Cambridge thru the torrential wind & rain. After a nerve racking drive it was great to reach home. A night in with chinese & Little Britain was on the cards.

Saturday morning I was up early as I had lots to do. First it was over to Carrie's to wish her a Happy Birthday and get some stuff for the Red Balloon. On to work to print out some brochures for the Red Balloon. Back home to take the black merc back to the hire place (I had only hired it for 3 weeks) only to find out I got another mercedes but in grey! I had only hired a 1.3L but the guy said that they don't actually stock the smaller cars so you always get upgraded! Don't forget that little gem of information. Then it was back to the house for a bit of baking in prep for the arvo tea we were going to have on Sunday. I made a strawberry cheesecake, blueberry/strawberry muffins, chocolate cake & banana bread. Then Helen finally showed up late afternoon. First time she has come to see me in Cambridge the whole 4 years I've been here. We got ready and headed out to Aki Teri (the sister restaurant to Teri Aki) down by the river. It's the best sushi restaurant in Cambridge. It was so great, there was 13 of us in total. Steveo, Helen, Colin, Arran, Sabine, Steve, Laura, Charlie, Mila, Me, Zach, Naomi & Guy. We headed over to Bolero's for a final dance. It was so bad, I felt so old dancing with the young folk of today. It was a great laugh though but by 1.30am Mila & I were feeling our age and decided to leave. A nice cuppa was waiting for me!

Sunday I took Helen punting down the Cam. It was really nice and only a little bit breezy. Then back to the house for the arvo tea. It was great to have everyone there. We cracked open the bubbly and toasted the future. Then at 4.30pm it was time to go. I tried to give Naomi my keys but she at first refused but I told her she had to take them. Then it was a round of hugs and into the car. A slow drive up the street, a final wave an extremely loud beeping of my horn and I was gone!

I was fine tillI got out of Cambridge then a couple tears leaked out. It's been such a great time in Cambridge and it's still unbelievable that I don't live there. So many friends, really good ones, and the memories. But it's now time to make new ones in Portsmouth. Can't wait for everyone to come down and see my new place!

I got heaps of pressies:

Steveo, Naomi & Arran - I got a heart shaped muffin tray, cookie cutters & a receipe book
Charlie & Ads (See you Saturday) - milk chocolate hearts, earrings, small purse, candle, photo frame, keepsake box & dream catcher
Mila - A box of Thornton chocolates, a bell for my bike and a day at a spa in Cambridge with her!!! So amazing.Steve & Sabine - So many pressies I don't know where to start. I got hot chocolate (with chilli), butterlicious body butter, Lindt chocolates, TV teddy, bath bomb and a German tradition of giving bread & salt so I got bread mix and a jar of salt. SO sweet.

So I fully cleaned up with the pressies!
