Licence to Drive

Finally after 5 years I got around to exchanging my drivers licence. Luckily all I had to do was fill in a form, send off the money and they swapped my licence to an English one. Had to relinquish my Aussie one but will just go through the same process when I come home. Not as nice as Australian one but I am able to drive for 39 years!
Also 11 hours till Inger gets here!!!

This is the third year Bovis have supported an award at this event and each year its great to be invited to the ceremony. First was the champagne on the lawn, followed by a 5 course meal with the awards handed out at the end. Crap Day + Flowers = Awesome Day

After an extremely boring morning, I was looking forward to the end of the day when suddenly I received a bunch of flowers from one of my bosses!!! A thank you for helping out on a presentation which won Bovis a Safety Award. How good is that! I love flowers, hopefully they will last a week or so.

Bodily Injuries

Well as you can see my fingernail has recovered quite well. After looking pretty skanky for the last couple of weeks the nail has grown back and is as good as new.

Unfortunately a little miss-hap in the kitchen when I was removing my pie, the tray it was on was in my right hand and I opened the door with my left. I think something caught my attention and I swung to the left, forgetting the tray was in my hand and it went straight into my arm!!!! Quite painfull at the time but luckily had some burn gel and once applied the pain was gone. Just doesn't look the best at the mo!

R.I.P. The Girls - April 05 to June 07

Well, it's finally happened. My bike was stolen last night between the hours of 8.30pm & 7.30am. Can you believe it! First Mila's girl goes from the front of her house early 2007 then my girl goes too, so sudden. I would like to believe they are reunited in some loser's backyard.
Hopefully whoever took her will try and ride her and fall off and brake a leg.......heres hoping!

Verina's 19th Birthday

Well, can you remember when you turned 19? That was the question on Friday night. Whilst I can't really remember mine, I'm sure Verina won't forget hers in a hurry. A bit of a kerfuffle in the beginning as the clouds opened up and we had a mini downpour, luckily it only lasted 10 minutes so the BBQ was good to go. A slight snag when I got home, I forgot the cookbook at work!! How was I going to make her birthday cake? Luckily I had my strawberry muffin recipe so decided to "Pimp My Snack" and make it into a huge cake. After many knifes had been poked into the middle it was ready and was absolutely fabulous. Although in the end she had two cakes just to make sure! The family BBQ (minus Becky) was held in the back yard with Verina's friends joining us later for cake, singing & drinking. Becky, Naomi & I got her the Cambridge University top she was after so she was extremely pleased. The kids kicked on to Soul Tree for a bit of dancing but I decided to stay home and get to bed early.

Saturday was a blah day. It was all about recovery and resting. Sunday the sun came out full force so Naomi, Verina, Mila & I cycled over to the Orchard in Grantchester for a spot of tea & scones. A lovely afternoon spent relaxing in deck yards talking about Naomi's drunken antics at the wedding she went to Saturday night. Then it was back on the bikes to cycle home. Unfortunately for Verina her back tire was flat as a pancake. She perservered for a bit but it got a bit dangerous, although the rest of struggled to keep on our bikes we were all laughing so much. A good weekend.

Blueberry or Apple

Branching out a bit, making my own sweet pastry and then turning that into a blueberry tart & an apple & cinamon tart. Both very tasty!!

Open Garden

Well the MET office predicted rain & storms this weekend. Glad their never right! We had a beautiful weekend full of sunshine for the open garden at Carrie's house in support of the Red Balloon. I spent all Friday night baking cheese biscuits for distribution with the wine for the evening shift. Basically Carrie opens her garden for 2 days a year so people can come in wander round, have a cup of tea, coffee, juice with a piece of cake or biscuit. All free and if people wish they can make a donation. I had the 5 - 8 shift, I was in charge of wine & biscuits. It was lovely to sit and relax in the garden and chat to people.
Saturday night had the girls & I out on the town. A great night had by all, although coming home at 4am just isn't as fun anymore now that I'm old. A bit of a headache on Sunday but once that passed it was back to Carrie's to see if any help was need. Luckily I only had to sit around and chat to people and eat cake. A walk through the local country fair then back home to pass out in front of the telly with Verena. Up to bed about 7ish and then woke up this morning bright as a daisy and ready for work!
Nettie's 30th birthday today!! Happy Birthday Nettie, wish I could be there for the party it's sounds like it's going to be awesome. xx

Strawberry Fair

Well summer has arrived, finally. A brilliant day for Strawberry Fair. A day when every hippie in town comes out to party. I was house/dogsitting Saturday so Mila came by and we walked down to Midsummer Common to emmerse ourselves in "legal" drugs, bongs, music, food & drink. It was easy to spot the English, they were either red (forgot the sunscreen) or white (haven't been out long enough) and absouletly hammered. People were lying about drinking & smoking listen to the variety of bands at different stages about the park. It was alot of fun people watching but after about an hour I got bored and decided to head back to the house for a spot of reading in the garden and relaxing. Saturday night stayed in watching movies, then early to bed. Sunday Carrie & Ruth came home so it was back off to Emery Street to do the weekend chores of washing & cleaning.
