God bless Lizzie

Thanks to Lizzie's 60 year reign we got a 2 days off work!! Whoo hooo.

Friday was my one week check up and I got the thumbs up, so 20/20 vision all the way. Such good news. I don't have to go back for a month now. It was Amber's last day also before maternity leave so a bunch of us went to the local Italian place for lunch, it was delicious.

Saturday was spent cleaning the house & doing laundry.

Sunday I met up with Lou and we went to the Battersea Jubilee festival. The weather was overcast and cold which was a shame. But we grabbed a hog roast sandwich (tasty) and walked around looking at the different shows, music & events that were being held in the park. Eventually the Queen's barge took off and joined the total flotilla and by this stage it was getting really cold so we decided to take off.

Monday had lunch with a (new) friend, which was nice. Then stayed home relaxing flicking between the Jubilee concert and James Bond. The concert on telly was surprisingly good.

Tuesday I watched the Queen & Co attend mass at St Paul's church then had to force myself to go for a walk. We are sadly undertrained in the walking arena and we only have a week & a half to go. Everyone else bailed on me but I perservered. I got the tube to Epping station and when I got there realised I had forgotten my wallet. Luckily there was money on my oyster card so that was fine. I really should get maps before I decide to embark on a journey alone. Did a bit of bushwacking, not reccommended. I think I read too many crime/horror/thriller books because I kept imagining that I was seeing people running thru the wood. Finally managed to get on the proper path but then proceeded to get lost. After 8.5 miles I decided it was time to head home as I had no idea which way to go and something had actually flown in my eye. Luckily a bus came past that goes right near my street. Got home and my legs were aching, little bit worried about how we are going to double up for the 2 day walk next weekend.

Also tried to make some more macaron's but failed miserably. I really need to keep practicing to get the temperature right. So annoying as I've now got the consistency right. Oh well, will keep trying.
As you can see they look awesome when I piped them.
But below is the undercooked & burnt results.

This lot were the most decent out of the whole 2 batches!
