Home, sweet home!

Finally after nearly two years I stepped back onto Australian soil. It was fantastic. Had a bit of nightmare flight, it felt like it went on FOREVER!!! And I forgot to take off my shoes so my ankles were triple their normal size. At the airport I had Netty & Mel waiting to cheer me down the ramp and Ma & Pa as well. It was sooo hot when we walked out of the terminal... fan-bloody-tastic!!

Tried to stay awake as long as possible but after reading the Sunday papers it was time for a nap. Fast forward to 9pm, wake up starving! Luckily the folks had ordered chinese so there was plenty to eat, then I watched the Mens Final of the Australian Open. What a fantastic match, both champions in my book. Such great sportsmen.

Monday, I laid around not doing much but reading and relaxing. After my mid arvo nap it was off to see the Hawkes for about 5 mins then Netty and I went to Mel's new place (well new for me) for ribs! Tasty, just like old times. Bel was there too so it was nice to see her.

Today (Tuesday) I woke early to the lovely sounds of birds in the trees. I think that is one of the main things I miss, listening to the sounds at night just before you fall asleep. It was off to Tamlyn's this morning, I was really excited as there were 2 new babies for me to meet. And the new arrivals, Milah (18months) and Peyton (4months) were so cute. Giselle was there too and she is so cute. Tammy's mum was there cooking us lunch and then Carmen with Lucas (9months?) turned up, then Ana with William(2months) & Jaleeza (3yrs) came over. Last to turn up were Brenda & Kelly. It was fantastic to see everyone and catch up on all the goss. No one has changed I reckon we all look the same, there's just more kids running around.

After lunch I headed home and picked up Ma and we went up to Hurstville Westfields and had a look around. We even had time to take in a movie, Grand Torino, the one with Clint Eastwood. It was fantastic!

Tomorrow.....who knows. Hopefully catch up with Kristie and see little Ella.

Matt's Birthday

Well it was a special day on the 15th...Matt's 30th birthday.

Joanne came down for dinner with her boys. James, Matt & Ned (left to right).

Then on the Saturday we went out to a local pub in East Dulwich for a few drinks and caught up with some of Matt's friends.

Count down.....

5 days to go!
