Night out on the town.....Stilly & Clare's birthday

After the great day of cakes and pressies we all headed over to Ziegfred's bar in Hoxton Square to celebrate Steve & Clare's birthdays. It was fantastic, the music was pumping and the atmosphere was great. We stayed until we got kicked out at 1am. I ended up getting a night bus home.

The rest of the weekend was spent recovering!

Thursday we played softball against the Tornadoes and it was tight but we won 7 to 6.

Friday night Helen & I went to Angela & Rich's house for dinner. It was super tasty and we had lots of laughs!

Saturday Clare & I headed for a second viewing of our house! It was great to have another look and we were able to see what we will and won't need. So exciting.

Sunday (today) was softball practice, we beat the rain by 10mins!

I have a 3 day conference, Mon to Wed next week.

Since the last post.....

It's been busy.
Friday night (23rd) we went to Smiths of Smithfield for drinks and dancing for Alan's birthday. It was a really nice bar and the music was old school so a people were busting moves all over the joint. After a few too many ciders I managed to get the last train home!

On Saturday (24th) I met up with Louisa, Nat, Andy & Helen and we went to Be@1 bar in Covent Garden. It was Amanda & Rosemary's joint birthday celebrations. Happy hour was between 5 and 7pm. I tried a couple of strawberry collins but then switched over to a couple of june bugs, super tasty! The music was sooo loud it was hard to talk so after a few rounds we headed to Wagamama's for something to eat, then off home to bed.

Sunday (25th) was supposed to be softball but was wet so we cancelled it.

Tuesday (27th) was Andrew's birthday.

Thursday (29th) was our first softball game of the season. We played the St Urbain Horsmen and won 26-6. Our batting and fielding was on FIRE!!!! A great way to start the season.

Friday (30th) Clare, Michelle and I decided to have a quick drink down the local after work. Well everyone showed up and one turned into about 4. Managed to keep my head though and dragged Clare out about 9.30ish. Everyone's talking about our move to our new house in Leytonstone, talking about drinks and house warming parties. I don't think people know me too well as I enjoy sleeping and doing nothing ALOT!!!

This Saturday I did NOTHING! All my housemates were out so I sat in front of the tv all day in my pj's watching rubbish tv. It was fantastic.
Sunday lunchtime I got in Coop and headed over to Bristol as Carmen, Dave & Lucas have flown over from Australia for a visit. It was so good to catch up with them, and to see little Lucas who will be 2 next week. Time flies! Also got to catch up with Poz, Cass, Adrian, Ben, Jane, Adrian, Harry, Max, Ross, Viv quite a turn out. Please note Harry & Max are babies! SO there were alot of little kids around this weekend.

Today, Monday, a bank holiday was spent at Bristol Zoo. The kids loved it, as did I. It was beautiful and the sun was shining all day. I left there about lunchtime and went straight to Nat's to bake a cake as our oven is STILL broken. Got home about 7ish.
Very tired.

Louisa's Birthday

Yesterday we celebrated Louisa's 30th birthday (even though it's today 16th). We had lunch in her office and ate heaps of chocolate covered things and cake as well. We got her some theatre tokens, Picturehouse membership & lollies for her which she really liked.

Then last night we went for dinner at TGI Friday's. It was great. The food was good and everyone loved the cocktails.

Wilmington, North Carolina

It was so nice to leave the cold and rainy weather of London and head across the sea to Wilmington. After a horrendously long journey I finally arrived on Friday at lunchtime. I saw Fiona, Lucy & Henry waiting for me and I ran up and grabbed Lucy for a big hug.

It's amazing how tall Lucy is and she has a funny little accent, with some words sounding super American. Henry is GORGEOUS!!! I couldn't stop hugging and kissing him, although he is massive for an 8 month old and very heavy but such a pleasant little thing!

What followed was a lovely week of relaxing, playing with the kids and hanging out with Fiona & Andrew. We even made it to the beach one day as it was soooo hot although the water was way too cold to actually swim.

Then it was Easter Sunday! The day of Henry's baptism. Andrew's parents & brother Michael showed up so it was nice to see them as well. I got some lovely chocolates from the Thoms, then it was time to head off to church for a morning service. After the service we headed back to the house and started to prepare for the baptism and pizza party after.

The ceremony was lovely and Fiona's friend Jenny sung a couple of songs which was so beautiful. After the baptism Andrew fired up the oven and everyone starting making their own personalised pizzas. It was a lovely afternoon, weather was perfect and everyone was so friendly. I think we finished about 11ish and then it was straight to bed as I was exhausted!

After trying to stuff everything back into my suitcase I finally managed to sit on it and do up the zip! A nice afternoon followed of more pizzas and sitting around the backyard relaxing. Lots of hugs and kisses later and I was off to the airport for the trip home.

I finally arrived home on Tuesday afternoon! Now ready to plan the next trip!

Charlene's Birthday

Big day for Charlene turning 24! Presents followed by cake and lunch at Nando's!
