40 days

So it's that time of year again, LENT! So no more chocolate now under Easter. And can you believe it, someone tried to give me a piece of chocolate cake today, unlucky.

Also put the car onto Auto Trader today, waiting for confirmation that the ad was acceptable then we juswt have to wait for the buyers to come! Fingers crossed.

On holidays next week, can't wait for the week off.

So it's been a busy couple of weeks. Steve & Richard came round for dinner and I cooked New Zeland Lamb, potoatos and roast veggies. We finished up with chocolate fondue.....super tasty.

Dodgeball last thursday, dinner with James at a Mexican restaurant in Canary Wharf, a retirement drinks reception at the Langham hotel last night.

Car went it for repair today, so should be fixed by next week.

Also Anne asked me to make a cake for her boss as he was celebrating 25years with the company so I made the one below. I ran into Paul last night at the retirement drinks and he showed me a pic of my cake and said "Look at the cake Anne made for me!!" So funny I had to walk away laughing. I saw Anne that night and it was very funny.

Nothing going on this weekend but relaxing and sleeping.

Jamie & Vicki's first dance

Jamie & Vicki's Wedding

A lovely day for a wedding. I headed up to Cambridge for Jamie & Vicki's wedding. The ceremony was being held in St Andrew's Church in the centre of town and then was to be followed by an evening reception at South Farm (near Royston).

Vicki looked beautiful and Jamie was quite dashing in his suit. The ceremony has lovely and it was wonderful to see them both so obviously happy.

Mila and I went to Carluccio's for lunch after and then a bit of shopping in town. Clare, Annabel & Freddy came round for a cuppa tea before we headed off to the evening reception. It was held at a place called South Farm which was about 20 miles outside of Cambridge. Beautiful scenary and a lovely venue. The couple had their first dance (see other post) and then we all hit the dance floor.

It was a fantastic evening and the bride and groom looked wonderful.

On Tuesday Lisa, Will & I headed up to Cambridge for the day so I could show them where I used to live. A lovely sunny day spent cruising down the River Cam, it was fantastic.

After our stroll around Cambridge we headed back to London. That night I had an indoor softball game with work so I managed to convince Lisa & Will to come and play on the team. Luckily they had a great time and did really well on the field. It was great fun and everyone enjoyed themselves.

Today after a lovely sleep in till lunchtime, we headed off to Kings Cross Station so Lisa & Will could get the train up st Scotland for 2 days! Can't wait to hear about their adventures. Here are some pics of them on the train getting ready to head off.

Lisa's 23rd Birthday

WHOOOO HOOOO!!! I have some family in the country! So fantastic to see Lisa in London. Looks the same as she did 2 years ago at her 21st, but now she is in my neck of the woods. Sunday I caught up with her and Will for what I thought was going to be birthday lunch followed by drinks, but no it was straight into the drinking. Luckily Natasha came along and provided me with that older shoulder to lean on. The youth of today drink so FAST!!!

We ended up going to Waxy O'Connors in China Town for drinks. I forgot they were celebrating Chinese New Year so it was rammed in the streets. Luckily we had a Sunday roast and started drinking and catching up. With her friends coming and going it was a lively afternoon. Eventually we sent her & Will on their way to the Walkabout Pub in Finchley Road for more drinking. I politely declined (due to age & work). Nat and I then headed off, realising we had drunk more than we thought and stuff some Macca's in before getting the tube home. A bit tired today but not too bad.

Lisa & Will are coming to me tomorrow (Tuesday) to stay with me for a week. Can't wait.

Guvnors Dinner

So we had our Guvnors dinner on Friday night at the Hilton. It was lovely to catch up with people I hadn't seen all year. I was also lucky enough to get a corsage & box of chocolates from one of our longest serving Life Guvnors Joe.

A relatively tame evening as I left at 11.30pm to get the last train home. Felt so much better on Saturday for it.
