Room with a view...

Well after Christmas day I have spent my time wisely....in bed doing nothing. I think I might have watched a million movies on Sky TV and read a few books. There is nothing better than waking up at midday and realising there is nothing you have to do! I love it. Finally I have cleaned my room up so it's fit to take some pics.

Christmas 2008

Well it's Christmas Day! What a wonderful day. A lovely sleep in then it was off up to Cambridge to Claire & Annabel's for Christmas lunch. Freddy, who is 3 months old, is so cute! Dina was also there which was great. A lovely lunch of turkey, vegetables, sausages, cabbage. Delicious!! After lunch it was dessert, apple tart, banana bread and carrott cake, all of which I had made the previous night. I was totally stuffed! It was delicious.

After dessert we sat around the Christmas tree to open presents! I totally cleaned up. From Paula & Charlene I got:

Monkey bandaids, finger puppets, mincemeat preserve, jelly beans, a bath bomb, a coffee mug & a photo frame

Claire, Annabel, Freddy & Minty gave me a fantastic ceramic fondue set. I can't wait to try it out.

Fiona, Andrew & Lucy gave me a Odeon movie voucher and a Foyles book store voucher. Can't wait to go and spend them. I have a few things in mind already.

Mila gave me a mini (car) key cover, dvd (stardust), Shea butter (which smells amazing) and a book - Watching the English. I have been after this book for 6 months so was a great suprise.

Sabina gave me a lovely photo frame as well. Dina gave me CHOCOLATE!!! and some body scrub stuff.

It was a lovely day, especially as I was away from my family. I did speak to my folks for a bit which was nice. And Andrew, Fiona & Lucy webcammed me aswell after I got back from Cambridge. It was lovely to hear Lucy shout out Merry Christmas! A fantastic day, and now I have the week to look forward to, doing NOTHING!!

Carols in Cambridge

On Sunday I headed up to Cambridge for Christmas carols at Trinity Chapel for the Red Balloon charity. I had lunch with Mila at the Slug & Lettuce, then we were off to meet up with Colin, Arran & Naomi for the carols. It was lovely to be in an old building with candle light. The choirs were lovely and it's always fun to sing along.

Seal, Walrouse, Horse, Moose, Motor Boat

All the above have been used to describe the noise I make when I cough. It's been a week and after a few drama's I have finally registered with a doctor and have an appointment for tomorrow morning. Finally I might get some drugs to help with the cough.

Had to stay last weekend, hoping that resting, my cough my go away by itself but NO! I did meet up with Angela for a couple of hours on Sunday to go the South Bank Christmas Fair. It was lovely walking along the Thames looking at all the stalls. I think there must have been more on the Saturday. I bought some fudge, orange chocolate & mint chocolate. Super tasty.

Tuesday night (last night) I was out with Colin & Dina to see Monty Python's Spamalot. It was extremely funny!!! Thanks to Dina for my lovely birthday pressie! The show was worth the wait.

Tonight we went out for Sue's leaving drinks. She is off to Adelaide, Australia to live & work. Very exciting. I might even get a chance to catch up with her when I'm home in February.

Yes I am home on the 1st of February until 22nd February.

Another busy week...

Well the Chrissy party was on Friday night at Ruby Blue in Leicester Square. It was a great night and is always amusing to see how people act after a few drinks. We all danced the night away and there was no goss unfortunately! Nat & I left at 3am so didn't get home till 5am so I'm sure you can imagine me sleeping in till midday, then snoozing on and off until about 6pm when I had to get up for Ben's farewell bash down in Portsmouth.

It was supposed to be an Australian themed party but I couldn't be bothered dressing up. The fact I got out of bed was a huge achievement. It was heaps of fun and I had a couple of drinks. Some interesting people showed up halfway thru the night and we rocked it in the loungeroom till the wee hours of the morning.

Sunday got up about 9am for some reason and everyone decided to start cleaning!! I think everyone was still drunk as we got it done in record time. About lunchtime I headed off as I had a drinks do in Twickenham for my old CEO leaving to return to Australia. I dropped Tom off at the station and headed up to the party. I was so tired I only managed to stay for an hour before I had to leave. It still took me over an hour to drive thru London to get home. By the time I got home I feel into bed and passed out.

Monday arrived with a tickle in my throat.......and yes it has turned into the dreaded seal cough! As the people at work have never heard my cough they all seem to think I am dying or coughing up a lung. I tell that it's normal and will pass. If it's still here on the weekend will go see the doctor.

So extremely tired and coughing sooooooooooo much.

Oh and it's Darren's birthday today! Happy Birthday Cuz!! xx

Life passing me by....

So work has been pretty busy of late, still not 100% sure what I'm doing and if I'm doing it right! Anyway in between work we celebrated Sue's birthday here at work. I made a lovely chocolate cake with strawberries on top! Then we all went to Nando's for lunch, then in the evening we had a work meeting with drinks afterwards. Wesnday was a packed to the max day.

Thursday I finally went on site and had a look at the site offices. Very swish, alot nicer than the ones we are in now.

Friday I met up with Sabine in Sth Kensington and we had dinner at a lovely Thai restaurant called Bangkok. I was a bit dubious as all I could see on the menu was spicy stuff. But we had spring rolls to start followed by beef in black bean for me and a red curry for Sabine. Well it was fantastic!! The beef was melt in the mouth and we only spent £16 each!! Thumbs up. After dinner we headed over to the Natural History Museum which is open late every last Friday of the month. We had booked tickets to see the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition. It was amazing. Maybe not as good as last year but still amazing.

The weekend was extremely quiet. Matt & Ned's mum came down and as she is American, she cooked a HUGE Thanksgiving dinner. It was delicious! And was finished off with pumpkin pie & cheesecake. Sunday was spent lazing in bed and watch the next 6 episodes of Greys Anatomy I received. That show is AMAZING!!! I love it.

Monday was spent handing over two plots I was working on to Scott, so now I can focus on my own plots which is good. Also met up with Kate and co to see No Mans Land at the Duke of York theatre. David Walliams (little britain) is in it, as well as the guy who plays Dumbeldore in Harry Potter & the guy who plays Filtch the caretaker in Harry Potter. BORING!!! I totally didn't get it and the others I went with felt the same way!! It was terrible! But we were able to laugh about it at the end.

A busy week ahead with our Chrissy party on Friday night, Ben's farewell party in Portsmouth on Saturday night and my old bosses farewell on Sunday afternoon in Wimbeldon. Get ready for the pictures!!
